Now that you have explored Universal Design and begun thinking about barriers to access, it is time to look at your own environment. Take a walk around your library or another space you spend a lot of time in. Look for features that either enhance accessibility or create barriers for people with different needs. Use your phone to take photos of items or spaces that you consider accessible and items or spaces that you consider not accessible.
For each photo:
- Add a brief caption explaining why you consider it accessible or inaccessible
- Consider aspects such as physical access, ease of use, and inclusivity for people with varying abilities
Upload your photos and captions as a single post in this forum. Then look at the photos shared by others in your group and comment on at least two other posts, sharing additional insights or suggesting ideas for improving accessibility in that context. This forum counts towards your final grade.
